Technology Battles: Exploring How Technology Standards Compete

How do strategic decisions shape competition between technology standards? In this seminar, Dr. Abide Coskun-Setirek will present Technology Battles, a serious game developed as part of the EU-funded EDU4Standards.eu project to teach standards competition. Based on a system dynamics model of standards and platform competition, the game lets learners make decisions about pricing, openness, and stakeholder alliances, then observe how their choices and external events affect adoption and market outcomes over time.

Abide recently worked on the model and game as a postdoctoral researcher at TU Delft. She holds a PhD in Management Information Systems from Boğaziçi University and previously researched the governance and resilience of digital business ecosystems at Wageningen University & Research.
