MIS Undergraduate General Information

As the first Management Information Systems Department established in Türkiye at Boğaziçi University, our department has been bringing together technology and management under one roof since 1995. In the Age of Artificial Intelligence and Data, we educate the leaders of the digital business world. Part of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, our department offers undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs, and stands out with its dynamic academic staff that integrates research and practice, as well as its continuously updated technical infrastructure.

In the first two years of the undergraduate program, students take technical foundation courses such as information systems, programming, IT infrastructure, computer networks, databases, and statistics, along with core business courses in economics, accounting, finance, marketing, and management. This enables them to learn how to interpret data in a way that creates business value. In the upper years, this foundation is expanded with courses in systems analysis and design, data analytics, information systems management, enterprise information systems, and decision support/business intelligence. A rich set of electives—such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining, digital business models, customer analytics, cloud-based enterprise applications, cybersecurity, and technology strategy—allow students to specialize according to their career goals. Project-based courses and lab work encourage real-world application using actual data, while the compulsory 60-day summer internship connects students early on with tech companies, financial institutions, consulting firms, and the startup ecosystem.

At the end of this journey, our graduates earn an English-language Bachelor of Science degree, equipped with globally competitive analytical skills, digital business knowledge, and the competence to bridge technology and management. Our labs and classrooms are regularly updated with the latest hardware and software, allowing students to experience AI tools, data analytics platforms, and business application software in their most current versions.
